There is some quality racing in Sydney and Melbourne on Saturday with the Group 2 Breeders Classic for fillies and mares at Rosehill being the feature; Catkins is a short-priced favourite to win the Breeders Classic for the second year in a row. Other highlights at Rosehill are the Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes for three year olds and $250,000 Inglis Classic for two year olds. At Sandown the Group 3 Chairman's Stakes for two year olds is the main race while the $250,000 Inglis Premier for two year olds and Summer Championship Final are other highlights.

Rosehill holds the spotlight on Saturday with the Group 2 Expressway Stakes being the feature attraction; three year old Panzer Division is early favourite for this weight-for-age race over 1200 metres from the Chris Waller pair Weary and Boban. Other highlights at Rosehill are the Group 3 Widden Stakes for two year old fillies over 1100 metres and Group 3 Canonbury Stakes for two year old colts and geldings over 1100 metres. The Listed Nudgee Quality for fillies and mares over 1200 metres will be run at Doomben after being a part of last Saturday's abandoned meeting at Doomben.

The $150,000 VOBIS Gold Star for three and four year olds over 1500 metres is another highlight at Moonee Valley. At Randwick the main races are the Listed Australia Day Cup over 2400 metres and Listed Carrington Stakes over 1400 metres. After the glamour and excitement of the Magic Millions Carnival at the Gold Coast the racing action this week is a little lack-lustre but there are some good races across Australia; the Listed Chester Manifold Stakes at Flemington is the main race and it has attracted a good field which includes Reparations, Lord Of The Sky, Red Excitement and Tried And Tired. The Sunshine Coast is hosting a strong meeting with the feature being the BMW Racing Minister's Classic, a $150,000 race for two year olds.

The Gold Coast holds all the attention this Saturday with the running of the $2 Million Magic Millions Classic for two year olds over 1200 metres and the $1 Million Magic Millions Guineas for three year olds over 1400 metres; it is a wide-open market for the Classic while Hijack Hussy is favourite from Testashadow in early betting on the Guineas. The Magic Millions Cup over 1400 metres, Magic Millions Sprint over 1100 metres and Magic Millions Stayers Cup over 1800 metres are some of the other highlights on a great card of racing.

The Bat Out Of Hell over 900 metres is another highlight at the Gold Coast with many of Queensland's fastest sprinters engaged. The following Saturday the Gold Coast hosts the Magic Millions Classic for two year olds and the Magic Millions Guineas for three year olds.

The main attraction on New Year's Day is the Group 2 Perth Cup over 2400 metres at Ascot; Real Love is a short-priced favourite and she is a big chance to give William Pike another feature race. The Listed Summer Scorcher over 1000 metres and Listed La Trice Classic for fillies and mares over 1800 metres are other highlights at Ascot. The Group 3 Standish Handicap over 1200 metres and Listed Bagot Handicap over 2800 metres are the features at Flemington while the main race at Randwick is the Listed Tattersalls Club Cup over 2400 metres.

The feast of racing continues on Saturday with the Canterbury Classic over 1200 metres a feature attraction; a very good field of sprinters including Driefontein, Dothraki, That's A Good Idea and Ball Of Muscle will take their place. The Gold Coast hosts an excellent card of racing with the Group 3 Bruce McLachlan Stakes for two year olds and Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate for three year olds being the highlights.
