With the Olympic Games almost upon us, an omen punter would be sure to put their money on Bradbury Chocolate who goes around in race 5 at Doomben this Saturday at 2.05pm. Who could forget her namesake Steven Bradbury, the former Australian speed skater, who miraculously became Australia's first ever Winter Olympic Gold medallist at Salt Lake City in 2002, after all of his opponents were involved in a last corner pile-up.

Well, one doesn't need to be an omen punter to seriously consider the racehorse Bradbury Chocolate, nor does she rely on miracles to win either. This bonny filly, trained by Donald Baker in Toowoomba, has had 7 starts for 7 wins! Admittedly her first six wins were at Cunnamulla (winning by 9.5 lengths), Roma (6 lengths), Charleville (8 lengths), Roma (6 lengths), Toowoomba (6.8 lengths) and Toowoomba again (a mere 3 lengths). Then it was time for the "big smoke" when she raced at Doomben a fortnight ago, and she did not let her ever-growing army of fans down. After racing well back in the field and being very wide throughout on a wet track that she had never raced on previously, "The Chocolate" started to burn home down the outside in the straight to claim her 7th consecutive victory in the shadows of the post. Whether the name of  Bradbury Chocolate is added to the list of champion Australian racehorses is doubtful; however very few horses win their first seven starts and for this reason alone she deserves the highest possible accolades. Let's hope she can get the "chocolates" again this Saturday and make it 8 wins from 8 starts.

Good luck today punters! #DerbyDay #MelbCupCarnival #StartWinning
